
A Chelsea Gold Anchor Figure of an 'Imperial Shepherd'
Circa: 1760.
He is Standing holding a staff which is used for propelling stones to control the sheep,with a posy of flowers in his out stretched right hand, a satchel around his shoulders , wearing a loose shirt, tricorn hat, cape, a brightly gilded patterned jacket and breeches , a fleece around his waist.He stands before a flowering bocage, a hound at his feet upon a scroll moulded base applied with flowers and leaves and outlined in gold, 36cm high, gold anchor mark to the reverse of the base; ( with some restoration to the base re-attached right arm,part of the staff and minor restoration to extremities)
